Never get sucked in by salesmen and their tactics! One of the best ways to get sucked into buying crappy furniture is to be swindled by the salesmen who try and sell you furniture you do not want or just do not need.

Here are some basic guidelines to follow when purchasing furniture:

* Never let the salesmen lead the conversation, Make him or her aware you are the consumer and you will decide what you want and if you are interested in it.

* Do not be taken in by "Special limited time offers", These offers are generally always available and are one of the many tools salespeople have to offer you to "hook" you into purchasing. They work off commission you know!

* Research the brands and types of furniture you want Before you enter the store, so you already have in mind the types you want and what brands are within your price range.

* The bigger the reduction in price, the larger the possibility of getting it for cheap. Often items that do not sell well, or have been in the showroom for far too long, are marked down over and over. Try to spot these items and investigate whether haggling with the salesperson is applicable. You may walk out with a great deal.

* Do not give in to pressure, Remember YOU are the consumer and YOU are here to spend your hard earned money, Not to please a salesperson and help them make commission off you.
